Originally the term addiction was conceived and defined as physical and psychological dependence on psychoactive substances (alcohol, tobacco, heroin and other substances). Subsequently, addiction was broadened to include any persistent, compulsive dependence on a behavior or substance. Henceforth, every symptom can be labeled an addiction. AddictionZ Victoria, BC Canada has compiled a list of 110 addictions as set forth by Western/Allopathic Medical criteria.
America uses flawed methods to tally and analyze the deaths of children who have been maltreated, and the latest annual estimate of 1,770…4.8 children per day…such fatalities is likely too low, the Government Accountability Office says in a new report to Congress.
Better data, says the GAO, would aid in developing strategies that could save many children’s lives in the future.

It is tragic to note that, although Oprah, herself, a sexual abuse survivor, put forth a plethora of misinformation within the interviews with both a professional and the survivors themselves. Dr. Howard Fradkin, who believes men’s sexual identity is unaffected by sexual abuse, is a tragic and unfortunate statement. New York Rep. Carolyn McCarthy introduced legislation on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, that would end corporal punishment in ALL American schools (HB 5628 “Ending Corporal Punishment in Schools Act”). Several caring and responsible congressional leaders have already taken immediate and necessary action in protecting our American School Children from the harmful and legal acts of beating them with wooden boards and leather straps, by sponsoring/cosponsoring this extremely important bill.
